On July 12, 2026, the UCSB Police Department received a report of a fondling that occurred at West Campus near the intersection of Slough Rd. and Seaway Dr. near the boundary of the Coal Oil Point Reserve. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at about 6:40 a.m. The victim was jogging on Slough Rd. when the suspect rode his bicycle from behind the victim and struck the victim on the buttocks before fleeing away on his bike. The suspect was last seen riding his bike northbound on Slough Rd. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 35 to 40 years old, with a darker complexion, wearing all black clothing, a black hat, and carrying a black backpack while riding a black bike. The suspect is not known to the victim. The suspect's affiliation with campus is not known. UCPD is investigating this crime.
